THE GLOBE FOUNDATION

The GLOBE Foundation, founded in 1993, is a Vancouver-based not-for-profit with the mandate to carry forward and promote the business case for sustainable development. Aside from being the creator of EPIC, the Foundation has long been recognized for its event expertise.

The world renowned international GLOBE™ Series of environmental conferences and trade fairs on Business and the Environment, attracted more than 11,000 participants to Vancouver in March 2008; it was the 10th in the biennial series.

In addition, the GLOBE Foundation has many years of expertise with developing and producing world-class events around the topic of sustainability, including:

World Conference on Sport and the Environment (March 2009) - in conjunction with the IOC, UNEP and VANOC, GLOBE Events is producing this international conference, focusing on the progress being made in staging more sustainable sporting events and their impact on our communities and sustainable living.

EECO Energy and Environment Series (biennial 2009) - a Toronto-based conference, bringing together corporate and government decision-makers to address key environmental concerns in the Great Lakes region.

World Urban Forum III (June 2006) - the United Nations premier international meeting on the impact of urbanization on the world’s growing cities, drew more than 12,000 attendees to Vancouver.
