EPIC Climate Legacy
Hosting EPIC green conusmer show generates greenhouse gases which contribute to climate change. Sources of emissions include transportation of participants to and from the event, electricity consumption at the event venue and the production of print publications.
The EPIC Climate Legacy seeks to make EPIC a carbon neutral event through emission reduction strategies and the purchase of carbon offset credits. Making EPIC carbon neutral means the amount of greenhouse gases generated as a result of the event will be calculated and offset accordingly.
Greenhouse gas emissions can be neutralized by reducing or avoiding an equivalent amount of emissions elsewhere - for example, through energy efficiency, renewable energy or forestation projects. By supporting the EPIC Climate Legacy, you will be contributing to renewable energy projects that neutralize event related emissions.
You can support the EPIC Climate Legacy by:
- Walking, biking or taking public transit to and from the event
- Visiting the onsite EPIC Sustainability Booth to learn more about your carbon footprint and offset the greenhouse gases generated due to your participation in the event
